This shit better work

Not factual at all.

The last time there was a month with 5 Fridays, 5 Saturdays, and 5 Sundays was March 2013.

The next time it happens will be May of 2015.

So unless your life is really short, you’re going to see this several times.

Even if it specifically refers to the month of August having 5 Fridays, 5 Saturdays, and 5 Sundays, the last time that happened was in August of 2008:

…and it will happen again in August of 2025.

August 2837 doesn’t even have this “phenomenon” (though it does happen in May of that year), so any way you slice it, this post is

Little girl being pepper sprayed in #ferguson #stopdontshoot #justiceformikebrown

I will scalp this b*tch and shove his lil b*tch ass spray can up his ass

NO STOP THIS WAS IN BRAZIL this was not furgeson! This incident occurred in 2011 and was not even in the US. PLEASE DONT SPREAD MISINFORMATION! http://www.hoax-slayer.com/cop-macing-child.shtml

Honestly this was not in Ferguson.

Hi guys, I was the one that posted this photo and I would like to apologize. I saw this pic on Instagram last night when I was cruising the #ferguson and #justiceformikebrown tags. I was under the impression it was a photo from ferguson so shared it because it was such a powerful photo. I haw since been informed that it is actually from Rio de Jenaro. I wish I could just go and delete the post but it has since been spread like wildfire.

I am sorry for labelling it as something different than it is, it was an honest mistake.

Gotta love when OPs step up and explain why they did what they did. Better is if they edit the original instead of deleting it (so anyone who sees a non-explained version of the post who goes to the original can see OP explaining the context), but it’s still a stand-up move to admit the error instead of just deleting the post and ignoring it in hopes that it just goes away.

But while the original photo above was misattributed to Ferguson, heavy-handed police tactics were indeed being employed. It’s looking like things in Ferguson are turning around now, though — Governor Jay Nixon has ordered Ferguson Police to stand down and has instead put the state Highway Patrol in charge of crowd control.

And the man in charge, Highway Patrol Captain Ron Johnson, said “A young man lost his life and so I grieve for that family because I have a son. We’re going to look at this from a personal standpoint and if that was my son — or that was my friend — how would I feel?”

Definitely a step up from “we’re cops, so do what we say or else.”

Pedro Smith, one of the protesters, said “All [city police] did was look at us and shoot tear gas. This is totally different. Now we’re being treated with respect.”

Also, I was out of town for a few days and when I came back I saw that I had been mentioned in a post naming the officer who shot Michael Brown. I’m not sure whether they were hoping for me to confirm or deny it, but the name of the officer has not yet been announced as of when I’m typing this up — though they are expected to name the shooter at any moment (it was supposed to be announced by 9:00am EDT today, but as of 9:11am EDT I am not seeing the name anywhere).

[EDIT: The shooter has since been named: Darren Wilson is the one who shot Michael Brown]

Please. Please let this be fake.

I seriously do not want to believe someone is that fucking stupid.

Yes, this is fake. Clickhole is run by The Onion, and everything there is satire. fishingboatproceeds did not actually say this.

He has a record of killing us an they hired him back and put him in a community that’s mainly black?!?!?! I CANNOT.

Christiane, go to the corner of shame. right now.

for fuck’s sake. good response hillary.

I can’t believe she asked this question. Boo, hiss.

wow lost major respect for Christiane

They say that a picture is worth 1,000 words. What they don’t tell you is that the words can be taken out of context, and lead you in a completely different direction than the one that the picture is actually showing. And in this case, the question has been modified from the original text, further blurring the context of the question.

The question was read by Christiane Amanpour, but was part of an online Town Hall discussion on June 17, 2014 (hence the hashtag on the lower left). For anyone unfamiliar with the format, a “Town Hall” discussion is one where the general public gets a chance to ask questions, sort of like when Bill Clinton was asked whether he prefers boxers or briefs on MTV. But often times the questions are moderated by producers and/or the staff of the people being questioned, and then read by the host.

The question was sent in by a tumblr user named Will Jackson (at least that’s the name they provided). I only use their actual name because it’s in the transcript and already public record. Here is the actual text of that exchange, with surrounding context:

AMANPOUR: And, finally, we go to our last Tumblr question from Will Jackson. “Why run?” he says. “Why would you run for such a dangerous and very stressful job when you have a precious grandbaby on the way? Retire! Relax! Enjoy life!”

CLINTON: Well, that’s on the ledger.

CLINTON: And actually, I’ve said this a few times earlier in interviews. I’m not making a decision in part because I do have this very exciting, life-changing experience coming up in the fall. I want — I don’t want to be looking past it, you know? I don’t want to be meeting my new grandchild and having somebody calling me and saying, oh, you got to do this, that and the other, in order to make this decision. I’m just not going to do that. So, I will make this decision based on how I feel about it and what I believe I can do. But I’m not going to be rushed to do it, because this —

AMANPOUR: Really? Can it (ph) not rush you?

CLINTON: No. This —

AMANPOUR: Hard choice?

CLINTON: It is a hard choice.

AMANPOUR: The ultimate hard choice? Grandmother or the possibility of being the first female president of the United States of America?

CLINTON: Well, let — you know, there have been a lot —

AMANPOUR: Hard choice.

CLINTON: There have been a lot of grandfathers who have done it.

AMANPOUR: Precisely.

CLINTON: Yes, exactly.

AMANPOUR: So, maybe it’s not choice, maybe it’s not a hard choice.

CLINTON: It’s a personal hard choice.

When it comes to images like this, context is everything. And as you can read in the transcript, Amanpour agreed with Clinton’s point that a lot of grandfathers have done it.
